The house is situated on the north Kenya coast in a secure beach restaurant plot on the first community marine protected sanctuary in Kenya. The beaches are stunning and the snorkelling is amazing. Local guides can take you out in the lagoon or we offer permaculture courses on land where you can learn to make herbal soaps etc from plants from our display garden. The nearby Vipingo Ridge Resort offers golf, tennis, swimming and fine dining.  There are many other interesting activities in the area.

The space:

The house is run by our Oceans Alive team. It is very versatile and perfect for families and large groups of people alike. Benji and Godfrey are there to look after you and help with anything you need. The beach house is situated within the secure grounds of Vipingo Ridge beach bar and on one of the most spectacular and untouched beaches on Kenya coast. Walk out from the beach into the sea and you find yourself in a stunning community run marine sanctuary. Relax and eat at the house or at the excellent restaurant at beach bar itself. The sleeping arrangements in the rooms can be adjusted to suit any required situations.

Guest access:

Guests can access the beach bar and restaurant, and the marine sanctuary run by the award winning Kuruwitu Conservation and Welfare Association(KCWA). They provide guided snorkelling, dhow trips, many leisure activities and specific marine courses in species identification and turtle conservation.

Interaction with guests:

Benji who works in the grounds will be making sure you are comfortable. He is also is a permaculture expert and can give courses during your stay. Marine sanctuary guides are available to take you snorkelling and guide you in the many marine activities on offer

Other things to note

Oceans Alive is a marine conservation organisation and involved in many projects with the KCWA. We also have a volunteer programme for all ages operating from the house at certain times of the year.
